GAME SUMMARY:
H/F time 1-1 F/T 2-2 EXTRA TIME 6-2

Abronhill went into this game full of confidence but with a poor turn out of bodies any injuries could have wrecked our cup hopes. The game started well with both teams having some good chances but it was Abronhill who took the lead. A superb shy from the ever consistent JOE found Raymond, and with a glancing header he found Mark ( cant believe he lasted 120mins), who bullied his way into the 6 yard box to unleash a great shot which the keeper done brilliantly to save, but the ball landed perfect for Billy to calmly side foot the ball into an empty net, 1-0. Bellahouston could have pulled it back to all square on a few occasions before they finally did and it came from a long ball which caused confusion in the defence and the ball landed at an unmarked Houston player who simply lobbed the oncoming " still drink " Josie. To be fair Josie did try and save all 4 balls that he could see coming at him but it was just too much for him, 1-1 & H-T.

Into the second half and Abronhill make a change with ANDY (with his new look) coming on for ROSS. The 2nd half started like the 1st with both teams creating good chances but not finishing. Abronhills 2nd came from good work down the left wing with the ball being played into Raymond who found Anthony, who unleashed a great shot and with the help of a deflection the ball flew into the bottom right of the net, 2-1. Abronhill with the chances they had could have finished the match but it was Houston who got the next goal from a cross down the left wing which beat the keeper and the defenders but found the bald head of the Houston player who couldn't miss, 2-2 and into Extra Time.

The first half of extra time was going to be hard as the wind had picked up and was blowing straight into hills players faces, if the wind got any stronger we would have had to send a search party for Josie who was finding it hard just to stay on his feet and was only being kept grounded by his soaken wet tracky bottoms. Both teams again had chance to finish it but the fitness factor was starting to take its tole and Abronhill looked more and more dominant, The Fast Feet routine was starting to pay off at last.

Into the 2nd half of ET and the Hill ran all over Houston with Hills 3rd goal coming from some great work down the left from Ants and Billy and a superb cross from Billy was met by Raymond who with one touch buried the ball from 12 yards, 3-2. Soon after it was 4 with some tenacious work from Billy bullying the defender who calmly took on the keeper and finished in style, 4-2 and game over.
But the hill weren't finished there and again some great work in midfield allowed Billy to race away for his hat-trick, or was it, NO from out of no-where and with his last breathe fading from his body, Danny had crossed into unknown territory and was actually in the oppositions 18 yard box when it wasn't a corner. With Billy just to beat the keeper for his hat-trick he unselfishly cut the ball back for Danny to side foot into an empty net, well done Billy, who would have thought it, 5-2. And the Hill still weren't finished, and its hard for me to write this but the best goal was saved for last. Some superb football in midfield with at least 3 one-twos being played before the ball was released for Raymond to run through on goal, with one defender to beat a nice nutmeg took him past the defender then calmly passed the keeper to side foot in an open net, 6-2 and into the next round of the cup.

Every player played superb and never gave up, MoM was awarded to both BILLY and RAYMOND for two fine performances. We still know we have allot to work on but the fighting spirit on Saturday was superb, well done.
