HAMILTON WANDERERS 3 ABRONHILL INTRANS 4
LOCATION: HAMILTON PALACE

TEAM: JOSIE, JOE, JACK, DANNY, ANTS, MICHAEL, RAYMOND, ROSS, IAIN, BILLY KEV
SUBS USED: MICHAEL, KEV

GAME SUMMARY:
H/F time 3-1 F/T 3-4

Abronhill probably started this match worse than any other match all season but somehow managed to score the first goal. With Joe having a hand bag at dawn fight with Hamiltons No:11 , Michael broke away down the right wing and fired in a shot/cross which Billy managed to get in on the end of and poke home from 5 yards. Soon after Hamilton pressured and played some good stuff and quickly took a 2-1 lead.  With Danny deciding he wanted to play basketball instead of football the resulting free kick crashed off the bar only for there striker to toe home unmarked from 2 yards. Not long after that it was 2-1 Hamilton and a defence splitting pass found there striker unmarked to slot home. Just far to much time for there players to gather the ball and do what ever they wished with it. 2 minutes before half time, it was 3-1. From a corner the ball was fired in low at the front post and with Ross thinking about having to work later that day and caught in a day dream he swung his right boot at the incoming ball and really gave the fresh air a good kicking before the ball flew over his foot for there striker to score the easiest goal of his Saturday morning career.

Half time team talk was much needed, with Jack just about to tell everyone he was changing the formation and putting Michael left Mid and Billy upfront, Grant just got there in front of him and suggested it. With Jack nodding in agreement and every player knowing they had to do 100% better than what we showed in the first half the 2nd half began.

10 minutes into the 2nd half and a throw in from Joe found Kevs head, but immediately the ref blew for a penalty for a shove on kevs back. Billy pushed Michael out the way to grab the ball and slotted home for 3-2. 10 minutes later it was all square with what can only be described as a superb finish from Iain. Im sure i saw him look to see if the keeper was off his line and then lick his finger and raise it in the air to judge the speed of the wind, before lobbing the keeper and finding the postage stamp of the goal for 3-3, well done Iain.

Some good chances for both teams to finish the game before extra time and penalties loomed. Hamilton had a goal disallowed for the boy being offside by a whole 2cms by the keen eyed ref. But it was Abronhill who got the late winner. Another Delap type throw in from Joe found Raymonds head and Kev lobbed the keeper with a well timed header.

Josie got the MoM for a superb save when the game was tied at 3-3 to keep us in the game.

Superb fight back and a great win to give Abronhill another chance of beating Baillieston Thistle in the Semi Final.
