 SUBS USED:  JORDI, JACK

GAME SUMMARY:

H/F time 2-2 F/T 4-2

Probably the worst start to a game all season for Abronhill. After just 2 minutes it was 1-0 to Hamilton. Abronhill failing to clear their lines saw the ball land kindly for their striker who volleyed home from 12 yards out. Joes chocolate leg collapsed again only 10 mins into the game which saw Jordi come on at Right Mid and swap positions with Ross who went to right back. Abronhill could and should have equalised but failed to and before 20 mins it was 2-0. The offside trap failing once again and their wee striker finished underneath the on-rushing soapy.  The goal eventually came for Abronhill and it was without doubt the goal of the game. From defence the ball was worked well into midfield from right to left and back again before Kev released Jordi down the right flank and Jordis excellent cross found Kev who headed well high into the net leaving the keeper no chance. Just before half time it was all square. Kev this time turning supplier and crossing from near the corner flag and finding Billy "Teenwolf" Ratcliffe unmarked. One touch to set up his shot and a superb finish.

The half time team talk seemed to go down well for a change but Abronhill survived a wee scare with a missed penalty for Hamilton. Soapy may have been lucky to stay on the park but he stood up well and saved not only the penalty but also the rebound, just gos to show he is really awake even though he always looks like hes sleeping. With the inform Sean causing all sorts of problems for Hamilton it was only time before he scored. Grant threaded the ball through and after Seans first shot was saved he hammered in the second. With Abronhill full to the brim on the new half time drink of isotonic juice the energy levels were still high going into the last 15mins. With billy chasing every ball like a dog after a tennis ball down the park, it was well deserved he grabbed his second of the game. A speculative shot deflected off the defender and somehow found the postage stamp, 4-2 and game over.

Good fight all through the match and even after the early scare, that being Joe going off injured not going 2-0 down, we done well and deserved all three points.

Just a wee shout out to the defence, well played, clean sheet in the second half! Happy Danny?

Keep it up for the game against Renfrew in the Q/F on another cup on Saturday.
