Match report by our new writer INNES.
Some might say that everygame is now a cup final in order to win promotion and todays matchs certainly proved that against a dogged Parklife side.
The pitch was in good condition and had a nice roll with it which helped Abronhill open the scoring after only 3 minutes when Kev latched onto a through ball to head past the on rushing Parklife goalkeeper.
Dont look back in anger but in typical Abronhill style the lead only lasted for 90 seconds as Parklife swept up the park equalising with a neat move which resulted in a simple tap in at the back post for the unmarked forward.
Abronhill almost went back in front straight away when Raymond found some space in box and lobbed the ball up in the sky but only to see his shot rebound of the cross bar.
After 20 minutes Abronhill found themselves further behind when shouts for Offside from Dannys big mouth were waved away by the referree allowing the Parklife forward a clear run into the box where he squared the ball to his team mate allowing another simple tap in at the back post. Soapy sporting a his new retro yellow American Trucker Cap cast no shadow on the fact that his defence had let him down again.
Hey now! What happened next was sublime, With half an hour played Ants gathered the ball around 30 yards into his own half before having a quick peek up and finding Jordi with a neat pass, the youngster then threaded a defence splitting pass to Kev who rounded the keeper and tucked the ball away into the empty net.
Abronhill managed to keep the game level for only 3 minutes as Parklife again marched up the pitch again and scored with a neat finish, less said the better.
A freekick to Abronhill 25 yards from goal saw Jordi curl the ball around the Parklife wonderwall towards goal, the keeper got down well to palm the ball staright to Kev who was unlucky not to claim his hatrick when his shot spun over the bar.
Half Time: Parklife 3 Abronhill Intrans 2
Listen Up was the call from Jack at Half Time as he shakermakered his team talk and revealed a 2nd Half Masterplan, Rab and Ants swapped positions to try and reduce the threat posed by the pacey right winger, Ants encouraged more communication from everyone and Danny described the team performance as worse than "a bag of dirty washin".
Abronhill started the 2nd half with a spring in there step, little by little they were picking off the Parklife threat and on 70 minutes got the reward, Tam who incredibly wanted to play the match in his new denims decided to bring it on down at the edge of the box before dispatching a supersonic shot into the bottom right corner passed the helpless keeper.
Parklife were now on the back foot as Abronhill applied more pressure in the quest to find a winner, it was one way traffic with Soapy having little to do apart from think about cigarettes and alcohol or a summer holiday to Columbia.
After 78 minutes the pressure paid dividends when unused substitute and recent proud father Joe sprinted 40 yards onto the adjacent pitch to get the ball before unleashing a bullet pass (surely JM will be back in the team next week now) to Jordi who was lining up one of his Rory Delap style throw in's, the ball flew into the box like a songbird resulting in a bit of head tennis before it eventually landed at Kev who in rock n roll star fashion and with with his back to goal produced an piece of magic pie and sent the ball into the net with an overhead kick sending the travelling Abronhill supporter David Walker into a mad frenzy, a moment which will no doubt live forever with him.
The game then faded in out as Abronhill successfully managed to see out the game making sure this time that there lead did not slide away.
