GAME SUMMARY:
H/F time 1-0 F/T 2-2
Going into the match Abronhills displays of late had been somewhat disappointing but the form book went out the window for this game. Abronhills performance from start to finish was outstanding to say the least. Every player battled for every loose ball and there wasnt one bad display throughout. As was expected the pace was frantic with both sides having some good chances, but it was Vale who took the lead through debatable penalty. From a throw in the ball was flicked on and the ball dropped to the feet of there No8 who's first touch was poor. This gave billy the chance to clear but somehow he volleyed thier player instead of the ball and a spot kick it was. Josie had no chance and Abronhill were 1-0 down.
Into the second half and the team was oozing confidence and to be honest i cant remember Vale getting a shot on goal in the first 35 mins of the 2nd half. Abronhill had a few chances before actually taking one. Some good one in midfield released Billy and with the referee not blowing for offside for a change, he raced through to calmy find the corner of the net. This was the spur the whole team needed and Abronhill went for the jugular, and it wasnt long before the 2nd goal came. A free kick 10 yards into the Vale half was floated into the penatly box by Joe who found the head of Kev. Mark then battled for the loose ball and the ball somehow found the feet of Kev who with an open net couldnt miss, 2-1 hill.
With every player desperate for the win fouls were a plenty with Vale having about 5 players booked, Abronhill done well to keep the heed, except mark as usual.
With 2 mins injury time somehow given Vale through everything at Abronhill and to be honest we coped superbly with the back four and midfield having an astonishing game. But then came the killer blow.A vale player unmarked on the edge of the box and his back to goal flicked the ball towards the penalty spot, with the a few ricochets the ball landed ended up at the feet of there sub who made no mistake, 2-2.
Only positives can be taked from this game and we must continue the fight and spirit into saturdays game, if we play half as good as we did against the Vale should no one to fear. AUG.
