GAME SUMMARY:
H/F time 0-1 F/T 1-2
First of many Tuesday nights games kicked off in the lovely surrounding of Craigneuk Airdrie. After waiting to 30misn to get into the most secure changing rooms in Glasgow, the game kicked off in the worst park played on all season by a mile. As Raymond said after the game, there was many pot holes at one point we lost ross for 15mins, or was it the full 90, only joking rosco. Anyway, Abronhill started the better team and could have easily been 3 or 4 up if Kev and Tony had decided to finish any of there chances, Michael 'The ICEMAN' also melted in front of goal after a first time effort was saved by the keeper. Abronhill did take the lead and it was scored direct from a corner by Anthony 'El Pontiff' Horan.
Into the second half and with Soapy stating this was going to be his first clean sheet in 8 games, the inevitable happened. After Abronhill missed at least 5 or 6 more chances, the 6ft striker for Thistle was released down the left hand side and what can only be described as a fluke cross, the ball somehow flew into the net. The big man even admitted it to myself it was a cross. With time running out Abronhill pressed for a winner, but with Tony McCluskey games are never dull. After being booked for moaning at the Ref ( Jim Beam) Tony then, 2 seconds later lunged in and was booked a second time. Abronhill did grab the winner 15 mins from the end due to strong play from Kev pulling the centre half about 10 yards on his back before rounding the keeper and scoring into an open net, although he did intentionally hit the bar just to make it more dramatic.
A well fought out win on a terrible park, but the three points count and now a hard game against Scotsman awaits.
